How to Create a White Glove Candidate Experience When You Don’t Have a Budget
It’s hard to hire top talent when you are a small company. It’s also hard to really stand out in this candidate-driven market when you don’t have a big recruiting budget. The good news is there are some simple ways to go the distance for a candidate to make sure they know you want them on your team:
- Set the agenda in advance
- Pick them up at the airport
- Include a breakfast or lunch as part of the interview
- Give a product tour
- Don’t rush the day
- Plan your follow-up
Bonus tip – when you meet with a candidate in person, you are obliged to phone the candidate personally if they are not selected. There is NOTHING worse than getting an impersonal email from HR after an onsite interview. After all, you will want the candidate to feel good about your company whether they are hired or not.
